Gospel MK 6:53-56
After making the crossing to the other side of the sea,
Jesus and his disciples came to land at Gennesaret
and tied up there.
As they were leaving the boat, people immediately recognized him.
They scurried about the surrounding country
and began to bring in the sick on mats
to wherever they heard he was.
Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered,
they laid the sick in the marketplaces
and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak;
and as many as touched it were healed.

Here Jesus is clearly growing in "wisdom and stature." Like the pop stars of our time, it seems like it was commonplace for him to be "mobbed." People were healed of there illnesses just by touching his cloak. To have such faith! Even now, I think Jesus would be delighted for us to pursue him with such passion. It's our move. Jesus is always available to us but it is up to me to move closer to him - to pursue him with the zeal of a paparazzi. And it's worth the effort - even just a glimpse of the light of Jesus heals my soul helps me stay rooted in the source of all life and helps me stay on track.
